Scenario Questions Scenario 1 – You are at Buffalo Wild Wings having dinner with your family when a person at the table next to you stands up and begins grasping their throat. It is an older male and he is unable to speak or even cough. Explain the step by step process that you would do in order to help this gentlemen. Include EVERY basic detail that would be necessary when providing treatment.
Scenario 2 - Adam is walking through the woods and trips over a tree root sticking out of the ground. He immediately begins screaming for help because his shin bone is poking through the skin, and he is bleeding profusely. What measures should you take to provide adequate care to help Adam?
Scenario 3 – You are babysitting your neighbors children that are ages 5, 3, and 1 years of age. The 1 year old picks up a toy that was left on the floor and begins chewing on it. They then accidently swallow the item and begin choking. Explain what you would do to treat the infant that is choking (detail). Your initial treatment is unsuccessful and the child becomes unconscious. Now explain the next step for treating this infant.
Scenario 4 – You are driving home and you drive upon a single car accident that has just occurred. A passenger from the vehicle waves you down and says that the driver was complaining of chest pain and then went unconscious which caused the wreck. Explain what you would need to do in this situation in order to provide them appropriate care.

1. Pick which pathogen you will be: virus, bacteria, fungi, protozoan, rickettsias.
2. Pick how you will be transmitted: direct contact, indirect contact, or airborne transmission.
3. In 3-4 paragraphs, provide a detailed description of your journey from your current host to your new host. Include details such as how you leave the body, how you enter the new host, how you affect your new host, how your transfer could have been prevented, & objects that you come into contact with.
4. Include/underline at least 4 vocabulary terms within your story/song.

In the "Obsessed" clip the students will view two unique individuals (both suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). Behavior therapy/management is utilized in the clip to demonstrate how these disorders can be controlled and potentially overcome. Both individuals are having obsessions about behaviors that would otherwise be viewed as healthy habits (handwashing and excessive exercise).

Assignment Guidelines
1. Pick which pathogen you will be: virus, bacteria, fungi, protozoan, rickettsias.
2. Pick how you will be transmitted: direct contact, indirect contact, or airborne transmission.
3. In 3-4 paragraphs, provide a detailed description of your journey from your current host to your new host. Include details such as how you leave the body, how you enter the new host, how you affect your new host, how your transfer could have been prevented, & objects that you come into contact with.
4. Include/underline at least 4 vocabulary terms within your story/song.
5. Do your best to make your story/song creative and rhyme just as a poem/song would.
