Unit 4.4  End Behaviors, Degree
  • We will determine the degree of a polynomial and the maximum number of turns it can have in its graph.
  • We will determine without graphing which directions the ends of a polynomial graph will be going, up or down.  This is called their End Behaviors.

Assignment:  #20  #1-10  Don't worry about letter (d) and the two e's would be found by factoring and solving for x.

I have attached notes we did in class.  I didn't get them cleaned up. Sorry!  Perhaps they can help some.

  • We will use the Remainder Theorem to calculate the the remainder on the division problem without using long or synthetic division.
  • We will use the Factor Theorem to determine if the divisor is a factor of the dividend without using long or synthetic division.
