Lesson 1.3 Identifying and finding slopes and y-intercepts in slope-intercept form. Then graphing the line.

Review for Chapter One TEST

Change problems:

#34 mark out the "+4" at the end, only use up the y > abs. value of x + 1

#35 change the " = " sign to a "less than or equal to" sign

#36 mark out the " -4" at the end, only use the absolute value part. AND change the " = " sign to just a "greater than" sign.

Chapter 4 The Real Number System

__ Tuesday, Nov. 12 (P) & Wednesday, Nov. 13 (W)__Lessons 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 You will be listing the sets of real numbers and imaginary numbers. Defining imaginary and complex numbers and their terms. We will also be reviewing the commutative, associative and distributive properties and a few power rules.

Chapter 3

Graphing quadratics by vertex form. Solving quadratic equations by factoring or quadratic formula.

Graphing by standard form "opposite" of b over 2a.

Determine the discriminant

Determine the discriminant, then using the discriminant determine the number and type of solutions.

Review for Semester One Exam

**I have attached the REVIEW problems for the semester one exam for period 1 class and the few students who where absent the day I past out the review.I have opened up the other chapter work we have completed so you can look back at any formulas or examples. I did attach all the answers for the students who have been working the problems and want to check their work. If you are having trouble with a particular problem, you can email me and I will try to anwer what I can on line.Please be working through these problems and prepare yourself for the exam! Have questions ready for class, work through as much of the problem as you can so you can SEE where you actually have trouble. We will be writing the center and radius of a circle from an equation in vertex form.

We will be writing the center of an ellipse and hyperbola from an equation in vertex form.

We will graph a circle and list its center and radius.

Then graph and label the ellipse or hyperbola.

Today we will use the same thinking process as last section except we will be finding out if the group of numbers are related by a common factor.
