Congratulations to Abram Yee and Elijah Downey for being Commended Students in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. “Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” commented a spokesperson for NMSC. “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”

On October 9, we will administer the PSAT to all Sophomores and Juniors at SHS. To facilitate this, we will create a testing schedule that allows classroom teachers to oversee the PSAT in their classrooms, which will take approximately 3 ½ hours. We will adjust our lunch times accordingly, and students who are testing will be able to attend classes at the end of the day. Please note the following details for October 9:
- Freshmen will NOT come to the building; they will stay home to complete eLearning assignments.
- Sophomores and Juniors will come to school, take the PSAT, and use the end of the day to complete eLearning assignments.
- Seniors are encouraged to use this day for College Visits, Job Shadows, or Community Service. They will also have eLearning assignments to complete. It is crucial for ALL seniors to fill out the following form to document their plans for this release day: Senior Release Day Form.
- Academy students will attend school as usual.

Amazing Administrative Assistants, that's WHO!
Who holds it all together? Who is the first smile you see? Who is a leader in their profession? Who has a heart bigger than their task list? Who do you go to when you are looking for an answer? Who answers the phone and the door with eagerness to serve?
